The project addresses data quality, incompleteness, privacy, robustness and efficiency across the edge\u2013cloud continuum. It combines robot perception, multimodal interaction, task planning, digital twins and trustworthy AI to enable robots and workers to collaborate safely under changing tasks and conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.soprano-project.org\/\">website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GreCO \u2014 Green Cultural Oases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>European Urban Initiative | NTUA Research Partner | 2025 &#8211; 2028<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GreCO develops a proactive, data-informed approach to sustainable urban tourism in the municipality of Elliniko\u2013Argyroupoli, an emerging destination undergoing one of Europe\u2019s largest urban-regeneration initiatives. The project brings together local government, universities, research organisations, technology providers and community stakeholders to anticipate pressures on mobility, public space, natural ecosystems and social cohesion. Its approach combines geospatial analysis, environmental and mobility monitoring, stakeholder participation and digital tools to support inclusive, culturally enriched and climate-resilient urban experiences. The resulting methods and platform are intended to provide a transferable model for other emerging urban destinations in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/grecoproject.eu\/\">website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CHeriDDOC \u2014 Cultural Heritage Digital Documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>Erasmus+ | NTUA Project Lead | 2026\u20132029<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CHeriDDOC modernises higher education in cultural-heritage documentation by integrating contemporary digital recording and representation technologies into university curricula. The project brings together the National Technical University of Athens, the University of Catania and the University of Bamberg. Its activities include the development of a shared digital-heritage curriculum, open educational resources and an accessible online learning platform, alongside international workshops, field training, student mobility and collaboration with heritage and industry stakeholders. Students and educators gain practical experience in photogrammetry, 3D scanning, modelling and other methods supporting the sustainable documentation and preservation of cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cheriddoc.eu\/\">website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selected completed projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FELICE \u2014 Flexible Assembly Manufacturing with Human\u2013Robot Collaboration and Digital Twin Models<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>Horizon 2020 | Project Coordinator | 2021\u20132024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FELICE developed adaptive human\u2013robot collaborative assembly systems centred on worker safety, well-being and production flexibility. The project integrated robotic perception, mobile manipulation, multimodal communication, digital twins, ergonomics assessment and adaptive task orchestration in a realistic automotive assembly environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.felice-project.eu\/\">website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>sustAGE \u2014 Smart Environments for Person-Centred Sustainable Work and Well-Being<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>Horizon 2020 | Project Coordinator | 2019\u20132022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>sustAGE developed a person-centred platform supporting the health, safety, well-being and productivity of ageing workers. It combined visual perception, wearable and environmental sensing, context modelling, recommendation systems and human-centred artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustage.eu\/\">website<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ACCORDION \u2014 Adaptive Edge\/Cloud Compute and Network Continuum over a Heterogeneous Sparse Edge Infrastructure to Support Next-Generation Applications<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><strong>Horizon 2020 | Principal Investigator | 2020-2023<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ACCORDION developed an adaptive infrastructure for deploying and managing next-generation applications across heterogeneous edge and cloud resources.
